Student & Apprentice Opportunities

As a Company dependant on maintaining and continuing a high level of engineering skills, we feel that it is important that we support and encourage youngsters to take up a career in engineering Over a 12 year period, Barrus has offered paid year long work experience placements to around 18 young students from Oxfordshire based universities.

Students work within our Research and Development department alongside experienced staff and are involved with R&D projects, product design and testing and CAD drawing all within a production environment. Past students have found the experience a valuable insight into the world of work which has not only helped them towards achieving their final grade but also improved their employability significantly after completing their studies. We are pleased to say that a large majority of students are now working with us on a full time basis.

More recently we have widened our scope of student placements and have begun offering opportunities to students studying Marketing (or relevant subjects) within our Marketing Services Department. Students gain valuable experience within our busy department handling all aspects of marketing for our prestigious brands.
